Our Newest Addition(s)!!

Hello there all!! I want to introduce you to our newest addition(s) to our family.

On your left is our little girl named "Lillie", and on your right is our little runt male named "Copper". They are 3 weeks old and will be ready to come home with us in about 3 more weeks!

I was going to adopt just one but..just like potato chips... I couldn't have just one, so ... I chose BOTH!!

This is the mama. Her name is "Susie Q"

And this is the daddy. His name is "Cooper"

When we lost "Goober" in March and adopted "Dodger", then lost "Buster" in July, I just couldn't bare to not have another Basset. A friend of mine's aunts male and female Bassets just had a litter of puppies and told me about them. I just couldn't resist so I went to look at them. I FELL IN LUUUUVVVV!!! It was such a tough decision, I decided to take the two I fell in love with the moment I saw them.

Now, we have a 4 year old Basset Hound named "Dodger", and my husband just adopted a Husky/Malamute pup that is about 7 weeks old. I was just gonna get one of the basset pups but I just could not help myself. They are soooooo cute!!!!

I CAN'T WAIT TO BRING THEM HOME!!!

Introducing "BO!"

This is "Bo"! Short for Bocefus. He is a beautiful Husky/Malamute and is about 7 weeks old. He is a beauty! He is my husbands new addition to the family. We have had him about a week now and he already knows his name! Our basset hound "Dodger" took to him immediately and they have been playing ever since.

He follows my husband around everywhere he goes and is already spoiled rotten. "Bo" is going to be one beautiful LARGE dog when he grows up. "Dodger" will be looking UP at him instead of down really soon! But they have become great buddies and it's been great for "Dodger". He has really missed "Buster".

I will be putting updated pic's of "Bo" as I post so you can see how he has grown.

Here is "Bo's" mama and daddy...\
Daddy... Mamma

In precious memory of my "Buster"

"OUR PRECIOUS BUSTER"

On Thursday, July 10, 2008, I lost my precious Buster. Coyotes had attacked and killed him right in our front yard the day before my 40 birthday. It could not have been a worst day.

My husband went to take the trash can to the road that early morning and saw Buster laying in the front yard and thought he was asleep. When he told him "morning", Buster didn't move. He went over to him and then ran into the house hollering that Buster is dead. My son and I jumped right out of bed and ran out to him.

The coyotes had ripped his collar off in tact and it lay about 4 feet from his still body. He had puncture wounds all over him and evidently had been attacked some time the night before. We all cried and cried but I think I cried the most. He was my most favorite dog I have ever had in my entire life.

Buster chose me when he was just 5 weeks old and he would have been 9 years old.

He was the most precious, gentle, calm, happy, and loving dog I had ever seen. Every time I come out side, he would come to me and I'd say, " You're my most favoritest puppy in the whole world." Then I would sit down and he liked to nudge his nose under my arm because he liked it being around him. We would sit there in the peace and stillness and enjoy each others company.

My son adored him...

I have never had a dog like him and I know that I will never find one again as special as he was. His disposition was impeccable.

I still look for him without thinking when I come home from work and when I leave for work. He was always at the door waiting to greet me and get his treat.

Buster was extremely special to me and he is definitely irreplaceable. I will always carry him in my heart.
We have now lost both of our Bassets this year. "Goober" and "Buster" will always have a very special place in our hearts. They were inseparable.
